The Child in context Intervention (CICI): A randomized controlled trial adressing chronic symtpoms of Pediatric Acquired Brain Injury

Abstract
The CICI-study examines the effect of a rehabilitation program for children with acquired brain injury, targeting everyday social participation and functioning at home, at school, and in their community. The primary objective is to evaluate the efficacy of the CICI-intervention on the child and parents? symptom burden and attainment of individually tailored rehabilitation goals of each child and family in a randomized controlled trial, that combines an individualized goal-oriented approach with a parenting group-intervention and school sessions, and which includes a 12-month follow-up.
Secondary objectives are 1) to evaluate the effect of the intervention on the childs social participation, general symptom burden, on parenting self-efficacy and parenting style, as well as the families? satisfaction with the intervention, 2) to investigate the feasibility of the CICI-manual, and to perform a process evaluation to gain insight into factors that may contribute to intervention efficacy.
